Corte Corte, Centre
Towns | Corte | Corsica
Corte, or the Paoline city, is often considered as the center of Corsica.
It was the capital of the Republic of Corsica, when this one was proclaimed by Pascal Paoli in 1755. Corte is situated at the heart of the scrubland what offers a magnificent frame with its rivers along the Restonica and its mountainous landscapes. It shelters the only university of the island, and its position is strategic because it is, more or less, at equal distance of Bastia and Ajaccio.
