This stroll will allow you to discover the ruins of a small abandoned village at the heart of the Corsican nature, where from you can admire one of the most beautiful sunset of Balagne.
Situated on the heights (377m of height) and facing the sea, the village overcomes the plain of Fiume and offers an exceptional point of view on the navy of Sant' Ambroggio and the gulf of Calvi. It was inhabited in the XVth century by people having left the coast to flee the Saracens. The decline of the village arrived at the XVIIth and XVIIIth century, to be definitively abandoned in 1914.
Three possible strolls:
1) Starting point: situated a few meters away above the entrance of the Camping " Panoramic ", on the road D71 which connects Lumio with Lavatoggio - Indicated path - Return trip : approximately 1 hour
2) Starting point: in Lumio, behind the parking lot of the hotel / restaurant " Chez Charles "- Indicated path - Return trip: approximately 1 hour
3) Starting point: in Lumio, behind the parking lot of the hotel / restaurant " Chez Charles " - Take the path to reach Occi. Arrived at the abandoned village, in in front of the restored Annunciation church, take the path which goes up in the direction of the chapel of " Notre-Dame de la Stella " between the Capu d' Occi and the Capu Braccaghju; continue the way down to the village of Lumio - Round trip : approximately 1h10min
